How do Kybella injections actually get rid of fat?

A Kybella treatment uses a synthetic version of deoxycholic acid—a molecule your body naturally produces to break down dietary fat. When we administer these double chin injections, the solution physically destroys the cell membrane of the fat cells. Once those cells are gone, they can no longer store or accumulate fat, making it a permanent solution for chin fat removal.

What should I expect during my Kybella consultation?

Is there a lot of Kybella downtime?

While you can return to work immediately, the treated area will look quite puffy (often called “bullfrog swelling”) for about a week. Most clients at Alüura find that wearing a scarf or high-neck top helps during this short kybella downtime.

How long does it take to see Kybella results?

Patience is key with chin sculpting. Because your body has to naturally process and flush out the destroyed fat cells through the lymphatic system, you won’t see a change overnight. Most patients begin to see a more defined profile about 4 to 6 weeks after their second session, with final kybella results appearing a few months after the full series is completed.
